Nesting and an Induction Date

I’ve been feeling like a Momma Bear in hibernation to prepare a suitable nest for our 5th little chick…which has required some creative play around here…

DSC_1088aNote to self: Grab some bandannas, suspenders and masculine hats next time I’m at Goodwill. Boys like to dress up too!

DSC_1085aSo, as I rapidly approach 41 weeks, I am experiencing a mixture of frustration over why my body doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do, what’s “natural” and before the whole medical community gets nervous that the risks are too great, with a feeling of relief, that something more familiar, predictable and “controlled” is in place. At the end of the day, I have to surrender and trust that God is with me and in charge! So, while my bag is packed and I feel as ready as I can be, there is also a part of me that is looking forward to a few hours to have to myself, to be able to do one last clean sweep of the house, leaving it in perfect order, kick my feet up and relish in those last few painless stretches of her arms and legs and enjoy a nice, quiet meal with the hubbs before peacefully heading to the hospital (inductions definitely have their perks) to get my “jump” 😉

DSC_1092aEither way, please keep baby girl and me in your prayers!!!! Although I’ve gone through this 4 times, every time is a little different and every bit as nerve-wracking!

And I can’t wait to meet you (Wednesday June 25th at the very latest) Yvette Bella Soto!!!

Just some things I’ve learned in the past 7 weeks as momma to 4, ages 5 and under… 1. Time is funny. It can seem like it is at a stand still or whiz by without a care of our needs. But either way, it is moving. I think our Amelie is the best indicator… Continue Reading

October happs

Where has October gone? Well, for starters, this angelic, peaceful little face has been keeping me on my toes, and huffing and puffing. He is running e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e. The kid has scrapes and scabs already covering both knees and he’s not even 16 months! And none of them resulted in a single tear. He has this… Continue Reading

In Cognito

May-be if I go In Cognito, I won’t hear them when I step foot out my door. E.V.E.R.Ywhere. A.L.L the. time. You would think I was a celebrity. Or a freak show. And this isn’t even when 1 (or all 3) have a meltdown in public. Oh no, this is when they are all well-behaved,… Continue Reading

Piece of Heaven

Build me a son, O Lord, who will be strong enough to know when he is weak, and brave enough to face himself when he is afraid, one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat, and humble and gentle in victory  ~Douglass MacArthur I love this little guy so much! When I am… Continue Reading
