As mentioned below, my very talented friend, Mandi shot our yearly family photos last weekend. As she says, I had a vision which involved a couch (not just any couch but an antique one that I used to sit on once upon a time in my velvet ruffly hand-made Christmas dresses for annual photos) and an open field. Beyond that, I had no expectations…
Mandi did her magic and captured our family at our current stage while managing to put us in positions that make us look well, rather cool, (and actually comfortable) even if one happens to be waddling like a duck,
weeks days within giving birth 😉
I will treasure these forever and for that, I am SO thankful to “Auntie” Mandi,
Not only did she capture our family together looking presentable and happy but she also got such a wide variety of other shots. I’m so grateful for her patience and thoroughness asking lots of questions, making sure momma would be happy with the results. Here are some of my favorites of the kids…
The fact that she got my girls to do this is nothing short of amazing! :p Oh and did I mention she did all this while growing a little person inside her uterus while her toddler was napping in the car (don’t worry, she wasn’t alone!)
And Mr. Cool, looking all too much like a big brother ready to protect…
The 3 buddies…
A HUGE “THANK YOU” to my momma who was jumping up and down, ringing bells and chasing a toddler and then plopping him in the frame for that split second before he ran off again, and doing this several times….and to my awesome hubby (aka “Samson” for the day) for making my vision possible transferring, loading and unloading and carrying upon his shoulders our prop, also multiple times. You never would have guessed the way he just sat down all relaxed looking so handsome 😉
Since I’ve never had professional pregnancy/maternity photos taken, Mandi graciously used this opportunity to sneak those in as well. And somehow she made me look more like a lady and less like the bloated, achy mammal that I feel like 😉
2nd location. As the sun set, so did the energy level and attention spans.
So, in the past few days my emotions have been all over the place …from waves of fear and feeling overwhelmed by the thought of another little one to take care (not to mention myself) to pure and complete excitement. This picture makes me hold on to the latter. How can I even be afraid of so much love and purity and innocence? I think I’ll have to post this one to the fridge to keep me in my happy place during those days of post partem and beyond 🙂
And despite mom’s hesitation and polite decline, Mandi strongly encouraged a picture of my momma and me. I’m so thankful (again) she did because it would have been a memory lost. And a very beautiful one at that. I love you, momma and I treasure you being so involved in my life! You are so beautiful, inside and out!
If you are needing some family photos or any photos at that, give Mandi a call or send her an email. You will not be disappointed! She is flexible & accommodating, (She drove from Lake Elsinore to meet me), patient, creative, funny, makes you feel at ease while directing the show (of 5 individuals, mind you) and just a fabulous photographer and person. (not to mention her prices are extremely reasonable so hurry while they last!) I’m already looking forward to a newborn shoot featuring the littlest Soto, hopefully real soon!!!
