Where has October gone?
Well, for starters, this angelic, peaceful little face has been keeping me on my toes, and huffing and puffing. He is running e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e. The kid has scrapes and scabs already covering both knees and he’s not even 16 months! And none of them resulted in a single tear. He has this horrible habit of clawing and swatting faces which scares me with a newborn entering the scene and therefore holds the record for the youngest Soto to experience “time out” in his crib. Since he is removed from the action and the hair-pulling fun, he doesn’t like it 1 bit. Add in a few swats on the hand from daddy (mine aren’t hard enough apparently because the only reaction they receive is belly laughs on his part) I think he may just be catching on. But oh my goodness, this little guy is so much fun to be around and watch and he is so sweet and just melts my heart when he runs into my arms or gives me his lips for “kisses”. But mix in a non-stop talker with unending energy, a middle’s “mommy, mommy” vying for some attention all. day. long. and a whole lot of messes, yeah, I’m exhausted!
Then add some projects like re-painting the living room, the laundry room, a fabric pendant banner for baby girl in the works and transforming a few Goodwill finds, and I guess that’s why blogging has taken a back seat…
But, I’m enjoying the routine we have going on. Monday is usually our recovery day from a weekend full of quality time with daddy, chores, fun outings and usually letting the kids stay up way too late. It’s my big laundry day and we slowly get back into school work and a bit more of a structure. Tuesday’s are open but have been consumed by Dr’s appts of some sort the last several weeks which involves trips to the Vacation Home. Smiles all around 🙂 Wednesday’s are wonderful because we get to see our friends/church community, and it’s often my only 2 hours during the
day week without the 5 year old asking questions non stop or jabbering my ear off 🙂 Saturday mornings have been spent in the gym with the girls. While Spicy is hard at work, learning, trying new things and burning some calories, I get some special time with Sweet G, smothering her in hugs and kisses and spoiling her with some kind of sweet treat “just because” (& because she is such a good sport watching big sis in action cheering her on when she really wants to be out there with her!)
Oh and did I mention daddy’s got yet another side venture that he
dragged me into requested my assistance in? And, we do have a social life.
We’ve been busy!
But it’s great! We’re down to SIX weeks (give or take a week) from tomorrow and the excitement and anticipation are building and bursting at the seams (quite literally)!
It’s time to
start finish checking off that list!
