Between a wedding
For 2 very special people
…A Big Birthday Celebration
Our baby’s unveiling (see next post for details)
A Garage conversion underway…
No, not a nursery or big “great room” for the kids (yet) but Super Dad is building me a secret hide out, I mean, a laundry room with loads of storage, and full protection, woot woot! And access to our house so I don’t have to go outside at 11pm in the pouring rain to change my laundry out! (Don’t take your indoor laundry spaces for granted, people!) 😉 Dad, you are AMAZING!!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh yes, and a nasty bug that swept through our home (thankfully, our bread winner was spared the pain because we needed someone well enough to feed us),
We’ve been um, tied up…
The last 2 weeks have been
hard challenging ROUGH!!! I could handle 1 sick child and even 2. But when 3 kids are sick in a staggered fashion, when only mommy will do at all hours of the night, and the sleep deprivation starts creeping in from working a 24 hour shift, ok only the 1st and 3rd shift, daddy picked up the 2nd shift ;), when Miss Spicy starts to get her incredibly high normal energy back and is bouncing off the walls from being cooped up and I’m still nursing 2 back to health, that’s when it hit me… Um , hello? there is a now a fourth life draining your every last ounce of energy, nutrients and vitamins from your body and what little sleep I could get was consumed by sinus pains and pregnancy discomfort (I got hit with 1 of the worst sinus infections I’ve ever had) and so, a couple nights ago, I had a melt down. A big one. (Oh and I forgot to mention that this was like the only week Dean could not miss work. Of course. Customer meetings, inspections, months and months of prep, uh yeah.) Anyway, the next morning I prayed the same prayer over and over and over again. It went something like this: “Lord, you HAVE to help me!” “No really, Lord, I need you, like NOW!” Well, He answered of course. In the form of my angel. She pulled up in her black Navigator (He takes care of His servants, ;)) and she whisked away away the 2 that were on the mend and well enough not to contaminate her. She is so much more than a babysitter. She is a 2nd momma to them, a fun and energetic Mimi and my best friend!
Angel Momma, thank you for not simply watching the kids and reminding me how much work it requires. Thank you, instead, for telling me what a joy they are to be with, in fact, thanking me for giving you the opportunity to spend time with them (um, humbling? just a tad) Thank you for taking them to the park, bathing them, feeding them good dinners, reading bedtime stories and putting them to sleep for a good night’s rest. Thank you for taking them to the mall to get fitted for shoes and to the library to explore, things they need and things that are
a little difficult impossible for me to do for them right now. Thank you for sending me videos and picture text updates throughout the day like these:
and notes of encouragement and love. Thank you for teaching my kids the same values and lessons I wish to instil in them. Thank you for giving me the gift of time to rest, physically but mostly, mentally, to pick up my
pig pen home (since I’ve been way too distracted catching vomit with my bare hands, yep, multiple times, to worry about wiping counters or putting dishes in the sink) slowly and with lots of breaks in between, to give our Sweet G (who got hit the hardest) the attention she needs and this opportunity to write about it 😉
I don’t know what I’d do without you. And I thank God daily for you, my angel!
