So thankful for so many things. Thankful for our Church (universal and local). Thankful for my faith. Thankful for the Mass. Thankful for the Eucharist.  Thankful for my relationship with my God. Thankful for God-fearing parents who do their best to follow Christ’s teaching & whose marriage is a testament of God’s grace. For gathering around their table to praise God and enjoy a beautiful meal together.

Thankful for excited little baking helpers and taste testers

Thankful for like-minded friends who double as hosts and actually don’t mind 11 kids (all under the age of 7) scurrying sprinting through their house, messing up their rooms, even the meltdowns (by a certain, ahem, Soto tot) don’t phase them. Thankful for our very own chefs (the Perales cousins) who serve fresh, hot, gourmet pizzas and new Italian wines to taste. Men who are chivalrous (yes, they still exist) who honor the ladies and love the bambinos.

We sure are glad they moved even closer to us because we are enjoying our tradition of fellowship nights (guys on the patio discussing good philosophy, always with a baby on a lap) while the ladies yap over a glass of wine, counting heads periodically. 😉

Thankful for a husband who willingly works 2 jobs so his family can live comfortably, and still has time to get on the floor and play with the babies, tickling them until they can hardly breath, who fights off imaginary pirates for his little girl and teaches all of us the first things. For a man who fails and sins like all of us but who works damn hard and does a damn good job at practicing and living out this verse: (& yes I know I said *damn* twice): 😉

“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ loved the church and handed himself over for her to sanctify her, cleansing her by the bath of water with the word, that he might present to himself the church in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. So (also) husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.”   Ephesians 5:25-28

Thankful for a sister who spoils me with latte deliveries and spoils my girls with fun outings. For a friend who teaches me so much and encourages me in all areas with the light of Christ and the Holy Spirit living within her. What a beautiful example for my girls to have in their lives and emulate.

Thankful for CLAA, who is teaching all of us (since Dean & I are just as much student as the kids are/will be) amazing things that continue to blow my mind away but more importantly, a way of learning & training of the mind that has proven to be extraordinare over the years (and we’re talking thousands of years)

And lastly, thankful for my children who are undeserved gifts from God. Thankful for their beautiful souls God has entrusted me with. For their amazing lives which are simply, my path to union with Him.

So, that’s what we’ve been up to lateley.

Oh, and meeting up with a high school pal I hadn’t seen in 15 years, a beautiful glowing momma to soon-to-be 2 girls. We yapped away about marriage and motherhood  as if we have been in touch all these years and the hours just flew watching our girls play together like best friends.  (thank you, facebook) 😉

Hope to see you soon. I have a new recipe! Yum!

  3. Yes, so much to be thankful for!! Marisa, you have the humility to recognize and treat as blessings many things in your life that many merely take for granted.
